Tutoring and Help Rooms

When you need help in a class: FIRST, talk to the professor. Talk to an Academic Advisor. Talk to someone. A big university means there are many people and places to help you. 

Tutoring in Briggs

Check the posted schedule in Holmes Hall, your course syllabus, or with your professor to get access to the Learning Lounges.

Biochemistry

Biochemistry provides fee-based tutoring for students enrolled in BMB 401, 461, 462.

Biology

Biology offers free tutoring assistance for students enrolled biology.

Chemistry

The Chemistry Help Room (located in rooms 81 and 82 in the Chemistry Building) offers free assistance to students enrolled in General and Organic Chemistry. There is also a list of tutors for hire available in the Main Office (485 Chemistry)

Mathematics

The Math Learning Center (located in Wells Hall) provides walk-in assistance to students enrolled in all 100 and 200 level math courses and limited assistance in upper level math courses. In addition, the MLC also provides practice tests, group study sessions, exam reviews, and online tutoring in selected courses. Math support is also provided in the MSU neighborhoods.

Physics

The Physics Help Room (located in 1248 BPS) provides walk-in tutoring for students enrolled in selected lower level physics courses. The department also keeps a list of for-hire tutors.

Social Science

Social Science offers a variety of free support options in selected social science courses. These options include drop-in tutoring, appointments, and review sessions. Services are available in the Engagement Centers and the Main Library.

Statistics

The Statistics Help Room (located in the A wing of Wells Hall) provides drop-in assistance to students enrolled in selected STT courses.
